“WHAT YOU DID WAS CONTRIBUTE TO MY KIDS BECOMING THE CAPABLE, INDEPENDENT, INQUISITIVE GRADE-SCHOOLERS THEY ARE NOW.”

 Profile

Hi! I’m Cindy Miranda, and I am a Master Teacher at the SDSU Children’s Center. My roots trace back to Tijuana, Mexico, though I spent most of my formative years in San Diego. I come from a warm, close-knit family, and I’m the second youngest among six siblings. I’m also lucky to have three young nephews whom I adore.

I joined the SDSU Children’s Center in 2021, where I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with different teachers and working with children of various ages. This experience has deepened my understanding of child development and the importance of tailoring approaches to meet individual needs. This role marked my first venture into a career centered around children in an educational setting.

In 2021, I graduated from Southwestern Community College with an Associate in Child and Adolescent Development, along with an Associate in Liberal Arts: Social and Behavioral Science. Following this, I continued my academic journey at San Diego State University, obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Child Development in May 2023. During my time at SDSU, I actively engaged in internships in schools, working with elementary-age children and those with disabilities. These experiences have enriched my perspective on the educational system and child support.

Beyond my professional life, I enjoy going to the farmers market, watching movies, discovering new coffee shops, and cherishing moments with family and friends. I’m dedicated to creating an inclusive, diverse, and secure environment where children and their families can flourish.
