Ashley Lopez

Master Teacher

Ashley Lopez

Hello, my name is Ashley Lopez. I was born and raised in San Diego, CA. My parents are from Mexico and I love everything about my Mexican heritage. I love our traditions, our food, and the cultural values instilled in me since I was a young girl. I have an older sister and younger brother, but I have many cousins that are like siblings to me. In 2014, I was blessed with my little boy I call “mi gordito” (my chubby), and being his mother has been the most beautiful experience of my life.

I graduated from SDSU in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Child Development. I discovered my passion for teaching while working at the Children’s Center. I always enjoyed being around children, but I never knew how fascinating and rewarding it was to be a teacher. I started at the center as a Lab Student in 2011 and progressively work my way to Master Teacher. I strongly support what the Children’s Center does for the children and the families that attend. I am grateful to be a part of such an amazing team.

In my spare time I love exploring nature with my son, playing soccer, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying the simplicities of life.

“Every child is a different kind of flower, and all together, they make this world a beautiful garden.” -unknown
