Center Board

FAMILIES AS PARTNERS

SDSU CHILDREN’S CENTER BOARD

Provides direction to the Associated Students operated SDSU Children’s Center. This Board sets policy, monitors budgets, develops and coordinates fund raising projects, and events that support program goals and promote strong relationships between families, staff, and students.

Duties:

The Board shall advise and consent regarding:

  1. Policies and operating procedures for the Center.
  2. General educational goals of the Center.
  3. Guidelines concerning parent involvement.
  4. Budget requests for the Center.
  5. Review expenditure of all funds under its jurisdiction.

F.Be responsible to the A.S. Council and the University for research and/or experimental projects carried on at the Center.

  1. Review admission policies for children to the Center.

The Board shall:

  1. Insure communication with parents involved with the Center.
  2. Participate in hiring process for all full-time appointments.
  3. Arbitrate or mediate and resolve otherwise irreconcilable disputes between families and the Center.

As a Board member you help represent your child’s classroom at all meetings. Ensure information is shared with families in your classroom via the Center list serve, posters and/or handouts. Attend all meetings. Serve as a member of a committee.
